Supported units:

  • centimeter - cm; The reference unit used by this converter. One centimeter equals 10 millimeters.
  • millimeter - mm; One millimeter equals 0.1 centimeter.
  • inch - in; One inch is exactly 2.54 centimeters.
  • pixel - px; A CSS reference pixel is 1/96 inch.
  • point - pt; A desktop publishing point is 1/72 inch.
  • pica - pc; One pica equals 12 points, or 1/6 inch.
  • twip; One twip equals 1/20 point, or 1/1440 inch.
  • Didot point - dd; A traditional continental European typographic unit, restandardized in the EU as 0.375 millimeter.
  • Q (quarter-millimeter); A Japanese typesetting unit equal to 0.25 millimeter.

Notes:

Pixel, point, pica, and twip values use standard digital/desktop-publishing definitions. The Didot point and Q are traditional typesetting units.

Physical display pixel sizes vary. For low-resolution devices, 1 px is one physical dot of the display. For printers and high-resolution screens 1 px implies a cluster of multiple physical dots.
